Remediating Fire Damage To North Redington Beach Homes

Storm season is just beginning, but many Redington Beach residents are still rightly concerned about the risk of fire to their homes. A house fire can go through the structure in minutes depending on what burns, how quickly it burns, and how much heat it generates.

At SERVPRO, remediating Redington Beach fire damage is a task that needs a quick and professional response. Every team member that arrives at an affected home is trained and certified as a Fire & Smoke Damage Restoration Technician (FSRT). Team leaders ensure they have the skills and equipment to restore homes from the effects of heat, flame, and smoke.

Property that is scorched or burnt in a fire requires demolition and disposal. FSRTs carefully examine furniture items and other personal property to make sure it can be carried out safely or break it down into smaller pieces for easy disposal. They apply the same procedure to structural property like drywall panels and ceiling tiles. Team members carefully pull them off wall and ceiling framing and break them down for disposal. FSRTs bag or wrap everything when needed to prevent spreading ash and smoke residues.

Next, SERVPRO technicians remediate residues and odors. Disposal of personal and structural property eliminates the source of both, but items not physically damaged require thorough cleaning. To start, FSRTs wipe down everything remaining in the home with a cleaner that contains a deodorizing agent. This initial action eliminates many layers of residues and clears out the odors they exude.

For thicker residue layers, teams also have the option to use vacuums with specially designed filters to capture all residue particulates. If the smoke residues were able to penetrate thicker items like wall framing, FSRTs use sanders to remove enough layers of wood to clean them or a fogger to generate a cloud of cleaning and deodorizing chemicals that neutralizing the particulates.

SERVPRO of Seminole & Central Gulf Beaches is proud to serve our community, as well as Madeira Beach, North Redington Beach, and Redington Shores, among others. If there is any damage to your home from a fire, call our offices today at (727) 391-6212 for a professional inspection and restoration.
